Dong-A University College of Liberal Arts, Holds Award Ceremony for the 5th Dong-A Excellent Liberal Arts Contest
Daesang 'New Wave of Korean Cinema' Course Awarded to Student Lee Jaemin and 9 Others
The College of Liberal Arts at Dong-A University (Dean Jin-Kyung Kim) held the award ceremony for the '5th Dong-A Excellent Liberal Arts Contest.'
This contest was organized to provide an opportunity for students to reconstruct their own growth stories through liberal arts classes, recognize the importance of liberal arts courses in university life, and enhance the pride and responsibility of professors by discovering outstanding liberal arts courses.
The award ceremony, held on the 12th at the Seunghak Campus College of Humanities and Sciences, was attended by Dean Jin-Kyung Kim, Professor Joo-Hwan Kim who served as a judge, award-winning students, and the professors in charge of the courses.
The grand prize was awarded to Jaemin Lee (3rd year, Business Administration), who took the course 'New Wave of Korean Cinema (Professor Kyung-Sook Jang)' and submitted a work titled 'Close-up: The Value and Growth of My Life as Liberal Arts.'
The Excellence Award was given to three students: Seongbeom Kim (2nd year, Electrical Engineering), Seolhwa Jeon (4th year, Korean Language and Literature), and Chaeyoung Son (2nd year, Food and Biotechnology).
Jaemin Lee said, "I am surprised and happy to unexpectedly win the grand prize. I am grateful to the professor who taught the course."
Professor Kyung-Sook Jang (Korean Language and Literature), who mentored the three awardees including the grand prize winner and two Excellence Award winners, said, "I felt a thrill the moment I saw the list of awardees. I was deeply moved thinking, 'The students took in several times more than what I taught them.' I will continue to reflect on how to teach better in the future."
