Collision Between Tanker and 25t Trailer on Namhae Expressway... Two Vehicles Completely Burned

View original imageAt around 6:56 a.m. on the 18th, a tanker truck traveling near the Jinseong Interchange (IC) on the Namhae Expressway in Sabong-myeon, Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, heading towards Suncheon, collided with a 25-ton trailer that was stopped on the shoulder due to a breakdown.
The impact of the accident caused a fire, completely burning both the tanker truck and the trailer.
The tanker truck driver, a man in his 60s identified as Mr. A, and the trailer driver, a man in his 50s identified as Mr. B, evacuated immediately after the accident, resulting in no casualties.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency Highway Patrol Unit 6th Precinct, it was confirmed that the tanker truck was carrying 26,000 liters of landscaping oil at the time of the accident.
Fire authorities, controlling lanes 3 and 4 of the four-lane road, faced difficulties extinguishing the fire due to oil leakage from the tanker truck but managed to control the major flames and clean up the remaining fire by around 8:15 a.m.
