Busan City and Busan Urban Corporation Promote Comprehensive and Metropolitan Evaluation of Urban Regeneration Project Outcomes
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Holds Urban Regeneration Project Comprehensive Performance and Best Practice Competition
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC), together with Busan City, conducted a comprehensive performance evaluation of seven urban regeneration project sites completed in 2023.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport conducts an annual comprehensive performance evaluation targeting areas where projects have been completed among the revitalization districts selected through a public contest under the Urban Regeneration Special Act. This evaluation identifies changes and key achievements in the project areas and promotes their dissemination.
Busan City selected a total of seven project sites for evaluation: ▲Boseo-dong, Jung-gu ▲Dongdaesin 2-dong, Seo-gu ▲Ami-dong and Chojang-dong, Seo-gu ▲Beomil-dong, Dong-gu ▲Buam 1-dong, Busanjin-gu ▲Geoje 4-dong, Yeonje-gu ▲and Suyeong-dong, Suyeong-gu.
BMC provided capacity-building training and one-on-one expert consulting for dedicated public officials from the seven project sites and operated the Busan City Comprehensive Performance Evaluation Metropolitan Evaluation Committee.
In particular, at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s Urban Regeneration Festival and Busan Urban Regeneration Expo held last November, Suyeong-gu won the grand prize in the operation and management category at the Ministry’s comprehensive performance evaluation excellence contest. Suyeong-gu was recognized for excellence by operating spaces for infants, local seniors, and young artists, and by implementing diverse programs.
