Pukyong National University Holds Completion Ceremony for Thai Language Education Program
On the 13th, 100 students graduated from the Thai Mae Sot Thai Migrant School
The KOICA Civil Society Cooperation Program Team at Pukyong National University (Director Jeong Beop-mo, Professor of International Area Studies) held a Thai language course completion ceremony on December 13 at the Centara Life Hotel in Mae Sot, Thailand.

View original imageAt the ceremony, Director Jeong Beop-mo, Deputy Director Moon Ki-hong, researchers Lee Jeong-hye and Kim Ji-yoon from the team, along with Heo Chun-jung, head of the Global Sharing Movement Thailand Office, Park Mi-kyung, team leader, and Premjit Morsing, vice dean of Tak Community College, attended, and 100 students from the Thai Migrant School received certificates.
The team was selected in May 2023 for the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) Civil Society Cooperation Entry-type Project and has been operating the project. As part of this project, they conducted a 160-hour Thai language course for 100 people in two phases, and held the completion ceremony for the second phase on this day.
The program was designed to enhance social adaptability and employment capabilities for young people who migrated from Myanmar to Thailand. On December 11, just before the completion ceremony, a Thai speaking contest was held for 20 outstanding graduates.

During the completion ceremony, a congratulatory event was held with participation from the Han Mae Sot Cooperation Center, the staff of Tak Community College responsible for Thai language education, and the students.
