Now in its third year since 2022, "Everyone's Independence" is a hands-on financial education project planned by Kakao Bank in collaboration with the Children and Future Foundation to strengthen the financial knowledge of youth preparing for independence who are in financial blind spots. This year, a total of 14 youth preparing for independence participated in the project.
At the performance sharing event held on the 16th at the "Seoul Metropolitan Independence Support Center" in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, participants presented their step-by-step goals to achieve their dreams, as well as the content and outcomes of their educational activities. For example, one participant aspiring to become a "child welfare specialist social worker" introduced the process of obtaining a social worker certification as one of the step-by-step goals and announced plans to use the support funds from the "Everyone's Independence" project to acquire the certification.
Kakao Bank donated a total of 100 million KRW to the Children and Future Foundation for this project, and the donation was used for operating the financial education program, providing one-on-one financial consulting support, and distributing support funds.
The participants took financial education courses on ▲financial fraud prevention ▲consumption management ▲savings and investment ▲housing contracts, and participated in various programs to strengthen financial knowledge, including personalized financial consulting through one-on-one mentoring.
A webtoon featuring the stories of youth preparing for independence will also be released. Kakao Bank plans to present the participants' real-life experiences in a warm illustration style through collaboration with artist Won Dong-min, known for the "Picture Diary" series. The webtoon will be available on the "Kakao Together Value" website starting in January.
