Acting President Han Duck-soo urgently convened the National Security Council (NSC). He urged maintaining a thorough readiness posture to prevent North Korea from miscalculating and attempting provocations.
On the afternoon of the 14th, Acting President Han held a meeting at the Government Seoul Office and emphasized, "In difficult situations, national security must be prioritized more than ever." The meeting was held in accordance with national crisis-related regulations to assess the current security situation and review preparedness measures across diplomacy, defense, and unification sectors.

View original imageActing President Han stated, "I hope that a flawless readiness posture is maintained so that North Korea cannot attempt any provocations," adding, "There must not be even an inch of security gap." He also called for thorough preparations ahead of the launch of the 'Trump 2nd term.' He said, "In the fluid international situation surrounding the inauguration of the new U.S. administration, we must secure our national interests through agile and proactive diplomacy," and added, "Especially, we must firmly maintain the ROK-U.S. alliance, which is the core axis of our diplomacy, and closely cooperate with allies and the international community."
Acting President Han emphasized once again, "In this grave situation, I urge the diplomatic and security departments to unite and exert all efforts to unwaveringly protect the nation's safety and the people's security."
