The National Assembly must immediately vote to lift the martial law." Since then, he has urged the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-yeol through participation in rallies and one-person protests in the Paju area and Yeouido.
In particular, on the morning of the 13th, a day before the National Assembly plenary session, he held a one-person protest at Unjeong Station from 7:30 a.m., urging the passage of the impeachment. That same night, at the pro-impeachment rally held at Yadang Station Square, he argued to the citizens with two main reasons why President Yoon Seok-yeol must be impeached.
Mayor Kim stated, "First, since the fact that a localized war provocation was plotted has been revealed in broad daylight, if Yoon Seok-yeol is not impeached, the safety of Paju citizens cannot be protected. Second, at this time when the economy is collapsing and the livelihood economy is more difficult than ever, if Yoon Seok-yeol is not impeached immediately, the lives of citizens on the brink cannot be protected." As the head of the local government and a citizen of the democratic republic, he declared his determination to protect the democratic republic.
On the 14th, Mayor Kim Kyung-il, who participated in the pro-impeachment rally held in Yeouido, returned to his office in Paju City after the impeachment was passed and convened an emergency countermeasure meeting. He said, "Since December 3rd, not only Paju citizens but the entire nation has been trembling with anxiety and daily life has collapsed. Now that the impeachment has been passed, it is time for the local government to take the lead in stabilizing citizens and restoring livelihoods to return 'peaceful daily life' to the citizens." Mayor Kim then ordered all departments to △ devise measures to stabilize the lives of ordinary people △ establish an emergency duty system for public officials △ strictly enforce public service discipline △ steadily carry out urgent tasks △ ensure citizen safety and prevent various incidents and accidents.
