'Yoon Impeachment Vote' Plenary Session Changed to 4 PM on the 14th
The vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol, who declared martial law on the 3rd, was changed from the originally scheduled 5 PM on the 14th to 4 PM on the same day, one hour earlier.
On the 13th, the Speaker's Office of the National Assembly announced, "The plenary session on the 14th will convene at 4 PM."
Earlier, the Democratic Party of Korea had stated that the vote on President Yoon's impeachment motion would take place at 5 PM on the 14th.
In response, the Speaker's Office emphasized, "The plenary session time of 5 PM was only the time the Democratic Party had hoped for; Speaker Woo Won-sik has not decided on that time," adding, "The authority to decide the legislative schedule lies with the Speaker of the National Assembly."
The Speaker's Office explained that the decision to hold the plenary session at 4 PM was made considering factors such as the report on President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment motion being made during the plenary session that afternoon, and that the vote must take place at least 24 hours afterward.
