Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 13th that it plans to close four non-compliant communal drinking water facilities (spring water sites) on the 27th after administrative procedures to ensure the health and safety of citizens.

View original imageThe communal drinking water facilities (spring water sites) scheduled for closure are designated spring water sites Guksabong and Myeongbong, which were consecutively found non-compliant with microbial items such as total coliform bacteria in 2024, and non-designated spring water sites Gwansan-dong and Bongsan (Yongdu Spring), which have lost their function due to frequent water quality non-compliance and insufficient water quantity, totaling four sites.
Goyang Special City plans to post this information on the Goyang City website by the 26th and notify citizens by posting public notices and banners at the communal drinking water facilities (spring water sites) scheduled for closure. To minimize inconvenience to users of these facilities, it will be promoted that the water can still be used for purposes other than drinking, such as household water use.
