At the meeting, 10 young livestock farmers representing various livestock sectors in the area, including pig farming, poultry farming, laying hens, Korean beef cattle (Hanwoo), and dairy cows, attended along with Choi Yoon-hee, Head of the Livestock Division. The agenda included ▲collecting opinions from young livestock farmers ▲explaining livestock industry support policies ▲discussing directions for livestock industry development ▲and plans to revitalize the Pocheon Livestock Grand Festival.
In particular, the meeting emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent in the livestock industry. There was a request for specialized education utilizing AI artificial intelligence and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve productivity and enhance the quality of life for livestock farmers. Participants agreed that the city's continuous interest and cooperation are crucial for the success of young livestock farmers and the development of the local livestock industry.
Choi Yoon-hee, Head of the Livestock Division, stated, "Young livestock farmers are the main drivers of Pocheon's livestock industry's future. We will listen carefully to your voices and work together on support measures to create an environment where livestock farms and citizens can coexist harmoniously."
Pocheon City plans to establish tailored support measures for young livestock farmers and strengthen the competitiveness of the local livestock industry through continuous meetings in the future.
