The roads around Okjeong Lake Park, which had been notorious for illegal parking and stopping, have been improved, allowing visitors to use the park more comfortably and safely than before.

View original imageThe city expects that traffic flow will be effectively improved through this project, which includes ▲changing the Okjeong Lake Park road system from two-way to one-way traffic ▲creating 43 on-street parking spaces ▲designating no parking and stopping zones.
In particular, to enhance citizen satisfaction, a SWOT analysis was conducted, and active cooperation was achieved through joint efforts among the local police station, fire station, and approximately 723 residents living in Okjeong 1-dong and 2-dong, who submitted consent forms in support.
A Yangju city official said, “Okjeong Lake Park has been the area with the highest number of complaints due to illegal parking and stopping caused by various events and visitors,” adding, “We analyzed complaints in the area and collected cases from neighboring cities and counties to implement the traffic system improvement construction.”
He continued, “We ask our citizens to participate in establishing a proper parking and stopping order culture.”
