Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that various organizations have sent warm support for vulnerable groups as the year-end approaches.
On December 10, local company Hanil Clean Co., Ltd. donated a total of 4.5 million won, with 1.5 million won each to Doksan 1-dong, Doksan 2-dong, and Doksan 4-dong, to be used for low-income vulnerable groups at the year-end.
Hanil Clean has been leading donations for vulnerable groups in Geumcheon-gu every year and was selected as an excellent donor for the ‘Warm Winter Neighbor Helping Project’ again this year, following last year.
The CEO of Hanil Clean stated, “We donated with the hope of providing even a little help to low-income vulnerable groups in Geumcheon-gu who are going through difficult times due to the year-end economic downturn and rising prices, as well as to crisis households in blind spots that need assistance.”
Last month, Seonhan Neighbor Church (Senior Pastor Go Seong-ryeong) donated 190 boxes of walnut cookies (worth 600,000 won) to the Siheung 1-dong Community Service Center as the first sharing donation for the 2025 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Project. The Siheung 1-dong Community Service Center distributed the received walnut cookies to nine local senior centers.
Pastor Go Seong-ryeong said, “As we face the cold winter, we prepared walnut cookie snacks with gratitude and respect for the elderly, and we hope they enjoy them,” adding, “We will continue volunteer activities for the healthy and happy old age of the elderly and sharing activities for those in need in the local community.”
Doksan 3-dong Geumcheon Credit Cooperative (Chairman Jang Geum-im) donated 100 ‘Eobuba Boxes’ containing daily necessities and food, along with 20 blankets, to the Doksan 3-dong Community Service Center through the ‘Onsesang Sharing Campaign.’ Now in its ninth year, the ‘Onsesang Sharing Campaign’ started in 2015 with briquette volunteer work and is a representative year-end sharing event of the credit union that delivers heating supplies to energy-poor households.
Jang Geum-im, Chairman of Geumcheon Credit Cooperative, said, “Thanks to the participation of many credit union executives, employees, and members, the Onsesang Sharing Campaign activities have continued without interruption,” adding, “We will continue to be a credit union that works together with the local community.”
