Gyeonggi-do Provides 'Quarantine Income' to Livestock Farmers Affected by Heavy Snowfall
Gyeonggi Province is strengthening intensive disinfection for livestock farms affected by heavy snowfall. This is due to the nationwide outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease and the increased risk of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the province caused by the migration of wild migratory birds during winter, raising concerns about the possibility of infectious disease outbreaks alongside facility restoration at livestock farms.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory announced on the 13th that it is conducting disease prevention and control measures in cooperation with city and county offices and the Nonghyup joint control teams targeting 774 farms affected by the heavy snowfall.
