Kwon Seong-dong, the newly appointed floor leader of the People Power Party, appointed Representative Park Hyeong-su as the chief deputy floor leader and Representative Kim Dae-sik as the secretary-general.
Regarding the appointment of the floor leadership on the 12th, Floor Leader Kwon said, "We are currently organizing it," adding, "First, Kim Dae-sik, a first-term representative, is the secretary-general, and then Representative Park Hyeong-su is the chief deputy floor leader."
He continued, "Representative Seo Ji-young is the floor spokesperson," and added, "It has not been finalized yet."
Floor Leader Kwon denied reports that he had spoken with President Yoon Seok-yeol. He said, "I have not spoken with him. I cannot understand how such a report came out."
Regarding impeachment, he stated, "Before I became the floor leader, the party's official stance was decided to oppose impeachment, and to change that, procedures according to the party constitution and regulations are necessary." The official stance of the People Power Party remains opposition to impeachment. Floor Leader Kwon said, "To change it, a general assembly of lawmakers must be held, and more than two-thirds must agree to change the party stance."
