The 'Seo-gu Disabled Facilities Goods (Rice) Sponsorship Delivery Ceremony' held at Seo-gu Office in Gwangju was attended by Seo-gu Mayor Kim Ikang, Gwangju Shinsegae CEO Lee Donghoon, and Kia Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters Director Jeong Gilsu, among others.
From the 11th of last month to the 8th of this month, Gwangju Shinsegae planned a vehicle exhibition event with Kia Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, which contributes to the local economy through job creation and other efforts, to promote regional coexistence activities. During this period, popular car models such as The New Sportage, K8, and EV3 were displayed on the first floor of the main building of Gwangju Shinsegae.
'The New Sportage' is a representative Gwangju model produced at Kia AutoLand Gwangju and was exhibited at Gwangju Shinsegae Department Store for the first time in the Gwangju area since its release on the 5th of last month.
The goods to be delivered to the facilities for the disabled this time were prepared after Gwangju Shinsegae expressed its wish to deliver goods to neighbors in need instead of receiving rental fees from Kia Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters. The sponsored goods consist of 434 bags of 10kg white rice (worth about 10 million KRW) and will be delivered to 34 places including disabled living facilities and long-term care facilities in Seo-gu area.
Earlier, Gwangju Shinsegae also conducted a kimchi-making volunteer activity to commemorate its 29th anniversary last month. At the Love Kimchi Sharing Volunteer Activity held on the 20th of last month at Gwangju Kimchi Town, 290 boxes of 5kg kimchi were delivered to 185 underprivileged households through the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, continuing the annual kimchi sharing activity.
On the 24th, a Hope Santa Expedition social contribution activity will also be held to deliver heating oil and gifts to low-income and other marginalized neighbors.
