Police Investigating on Charges of Violating Assembly and Demonstration Laws
At a rally calling for the resignation of President Yoon Seok-yeol held in Ulsan, a teenage boy assaulted female participants and was apprehended by the police.
On the 9th, the Ulsan Southern Police Station announced that they had arrested a teenage boy identified as A on charges of violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act and are currently investigating.
A is accused of assaulting two women around 6 p.m. near the Lotte Department Store plaza in Nam-gu, Ulsan, by pinning them down with his arms and threatening them with his hands. At the time, a candlelight rally urging President Yoon's resignation was taking place at the plaza, following the aftermath of the December 3 emergency martial law situation. A reportedly shouted "You're noisy" at participants handing out flyers before assaulting them.
