Police Chief: "Counterintelligence Commander Requested Location Tracking of Lee Jae-myung, Han Dong-hoon, and Others"
"Claimed 'Did Not Respond Without a Warrant'"
Police Chief Jo Ji-ho revealed on the 9th that during the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident,' Counterintelligence Commander Yeo In-hyung called to request location tracking of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, and others.
On the same day, at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Chief Jo responded to a question from Jeon Hyun-hee, a Democratic Party lawmaker, asking, "Who was the person who requested the location tracking from the Counterintelligence Commander?"
Chief Jo stated that he received a call from Commander Yeo around 10:30 to 10:40 p.m. on the 3rd, immediately after President Yoon Seok-yeol declared martial law, and that the location tracking list included Lee Jae-myung, Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Cheong-rae, former Supreme Court Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo, and former Supreme Court Justice Kwon Soon-il.
Chief Jo explained, "Han Dong-hoon was not on the initial list provided, but then I received another call adding one more person, so he was included," adding, "I wrote it down at the time, but if you ask me to recall each one, it is difficult to recite a list of 15 people as if taking a photo."

Chief Jo claimed that he did not comply with Commander Yeo's request for location tracking. He said, "Location tracking itself is illegal, and to conduct location tracking, a warrant issued by the court is required, which we did not have, so the police could not carry it out."
