This training was organized to enhance understanding of the 'Sound Walking Auditory Travel Project,' developed in collaboration with the GKL Social Contribution Foundation, a non-profit public corporation under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which is set to be fully implemented starting next year.
On the first day of training, a donation ceremony for Sound Walking equipment by the GKL Social Contribution Foundation was held, along with theoretical education on the use and management of the equipment. On the second day, participants had the opportunity to directly demonstrate the Sound Walking tour at Juknokwon and Hanjaegol.
One cultural tourism interpreter who participated in the training said, "This training was a meaningful time as it allowed me to learn not only about interpreting tourist sites but also about tourism interpretation involving various social groups. Through capacity-building education, I will continuously improve the quality of interpretation and work responsibly to revitalize tourism."
A county official stated, "Sound Walking auditory travel is an ecological empathy journey that focuses on the soundscapes of tourist sites along with interpretation. Since it uses the universal language of nature's sounds, it is travel content that can be enjoyed by foreigners, children, and vulnerable tourists even without a common spoken language. We will strive to captivate the hearts of tourists worldwide, beyond Korea."
