The 34th Jinju Marathon Filled with Participant Enthusiasm
Four Events Including Full Course and Half Course 진행
The 34th Jinju Marathon, with over 5,000 marathoners from across the country participating, was held on the 8th at Jinyangho Sunset Park (Namgang Dam Water Culture Center) area.
Hosted and organized by the Jinju City Athletics Federation in Gyeongnam, and sponsored by Gyeongsangnam-do, Jinju City, Jinju Police Station, Jinju Fire Station, and Korea Water Resources Corporation, this event was prepared to promote physical fitness among marathon enthusiasts nationwide and to spread marathon culture.
Starting with a pre-event performance by a dance team, the event was held along with various side events such as a free tea house and food booths, filling the atmosphere with participants' enthusiasm despite the cold weather.
The competition was divided into four categories: full course, half course, 10 km, and 5 km. The full course started at 9:30 AM from Sunset Park, passing Jinsu Bridge and Daepyeong Bridge, turning back in front of Myeongseok Simok Village, and returning along the same route. After the event, awards were given to winners in each category as well as team awards.

Mayor Jo Gyu-il, who attended the opening ceremony, said, "I sincerely welcome marathoners from all over the country who came to Jinju to participate despite the cold weather," and added, "I hope all participants enjoy the joy of completing the race and savor the beautiful course set against the backdrop of Jinyangho, experiencing the winter scenery unique to Jinju."
