[Featured Stock] iMBC Surges... 'News Desk' Ranks No.1 in Ratings for Six Consecutive Days
iMBC is showing strong performance. It appears that the news of MBC TV's 'News Desk' maintaining the number one spot in ratings amid the impeachment political situation is influencing the stock price. With the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol failing to pass, MBC's 'News Special Report' recorded the highest ratings among the three major terrestrial broadcasters' news programs.
As of 9:11 AM on the 9th, iMBC is trading at 4,270 KRW, up 29.98% compared to the previous trading day.
According to Nielsen Korea, the 'News Desk' broadcast the previous day recorded a nationwide rating of 10.3%. It has held the number one position for six consecutive days since December 3, the day after the martial law incident. After soaring to 10.6% on the 4th, it maintained high ratings with 10.4% on the 5th, 9.8% on the 6th, and 10.2% on the 7th. The average rating before the martial law was around 5-7%.
KBS 1TV's 'News 9' recorded 5.6%, and SBS TV's '8 O'Clock News' was at 3.8%. KBS 1TV's 'Sunday Diagnosis Live' and 'News Special Report' recorded 3.2% and 2.7%, respectively. KBS and SBS showed no change in ratings even after the December 3 martial law incident.
