The LG Comfort Kit is an auxiliary accessory designed to help all customers, regardless of gender, age, or disability, use LG Electronics' home appliances easily. It was first launched in March as the industry's first of its kind. Including the new products, a total of 13 Comfort Kit items are now available.
The six new Comfort Kit products consist of new and upgraded items. Each kit is designed to reduce inconveniences experienced by not only people with disabilities but also senior customers when using home appliances.
Representative examples include the 'Induction Silicone Pad' and 'Water Purifier Silicone Cover,' which feature braille markings and holes on the touch areas to assist visually impaired users with touch operations. The 'Robot Vacuum Cleaner Color Sheet' is a cover sheet designed to help easily identify the location of the robot vacuum cleaner. It is made in red to be highly visible.
The 'Refrigerator Rotating Shelf' helps users easily retrieve items located deep inside the refrigerator. The 'Twiun Mini Easy Handle' allows customers with limited hand movement to easily detach seed kits. Additionally, the 'Refrigerator Easy Handle,' designed to make opening the refrigerator door easier, is thinner than the version released in March, reducing the risk of bumping into the handle.
LG Electronics stated that during the development of the new products, they visited homes already using the Comfort Kit to analyze customer pain points from multiple perspectives. They collaborated with Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital to conduct field tests, developing the products from the customer's point of view. The new products include items that minimize inconveniences when using appliances according to different types of disabilities. For senior customers, designs that minimize physical burden were applied.
The LG Comfort Kit can be purchased on LG Electronics' official website. A free distribution event is also underway. The existing seven Comfort Kit products will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to disabled customers and senior customers aged 65 or older with physical difficulties who own LG appliances compatible with the Comfort Kit. Customers can check the nearest service center through the announcements on LG Electronics' official website and apply by visiting.
