The final selected teams are decided through peer evaluation and voting by the 'Side Impact Community,' including participating teams. The Side Impact projects selected by peer votes consist of 10 teams in the 'Impact Track' and 20 teams in the 'Spark Track.' Teams selected for the Impact Track receive 12 million KRW per team, and teams selected for the Spark Track receive 5 million KRW per team from Brian Impact, respectively.
In Side Impact Round 1, the Spark Track was newly established to allow various projects to participate. Teams that have officially launched their service or product and are actively operating are eligible for the Impact Track, while teams that have not officially launched their service but have implemented a minimum viable product (MVP) or prototype to solve social problems are eligible for the Spark Track.
This year, the number of projects using artificial intelligence (AI) technology increased significantly. Compared to 8 projects utilizing AI in last year's beta round, 40 teams submitted AI-based projects in this year's Round 1. About half of the 88 teams participating in the official evaluation used AI.
