Joint Inspection Conducted with Haeyang Susan Cheong... 16 Administrative Actions Taken
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Lee Myung-jun) announced on the 3rd that it conducted unannounced inspections on two ferry cargo ships over 2000 tons to prevent marine accidents during the winter season of adverse weather conditions.
Due to the nature of ferry cargo ships operating mainly at night and early morning, crew fatigue is high, increasing the likelihood of major marine accidents caused by inattentiveness. Therefore, the West Sea Coast Guard Agency, in cooperation with the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Agency, carried out unannounced inspections.
