Successful Completion of Screen Park Golf Tournament Enjoyed by Disabled and Non-Disabled Participants Together
The '2024 Uijeongbu City Harmony Screen Park Golf Tournament,' hosted and organized by the Uijeongbu City Disabled Sports Association and the Uijeongbu City Disabled Golf Association, was successfully concluded on the 30th of last month, the 4th announced.

View original imageThis tournament was the first screen park golf competition in Uijeongbu City, with over 80 players participating in fierce competition.
The tournament, which brought together people with and without disabilities, produced diverse results, including the champion (Jeong Jun-ho), runner-up (Lee Cheol-su), and third place (Jeon Mi-ryeong), as well as the doubles category where the team of Kim Suk-ja and Kim Nam-hong won. Notably, the doubles category was more meaningful as it included participants both with and without disabilities.
Park golf is a sport with excellent full-body exercise effects, making it easy for people with severe disabilities to enjoy. In fact, player Jeon Guk-gyun, who participated in the tournament, emphasized the benefits of park golf by saying, “Thanks to park golf, I am now able to move without a wheelchair.”
Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu City, stated, “Park golf can be enjoyed anytime regardless of the weather, making it a good exercise for both people with and without disabilities,” and added, “Uijeongbu City will continue to strive to build infrastructure so that citizens can enjoy various sports.”
Kim Jeong-chang, President of the Uijeongbu City Disabled Golf Association, said, “We will use this tournament as an opportunity to expand the base of park golf and work to allow more citizens to experience park golf through the operation of small-scale park golf classes.”

This tournament was selected as a Gyeonggi-do public project and served as an opportunity to contribute to the revitalization of disabled sports in Uijeongbu City.
