On the 4th at 9 a.m., Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held an emergency meeting on martial law presided over by Mayor Hong Nam-pyo.
The meeting was originally scheduled for 7 a.m., but the time was changed after the government held a Cabinet meeting at 4:30 a.m. that day and passed the 'martial law lifting proposal.'
Since 11 p.m. on the 3rd, immediately after the government's announcement of the martial law proclamation, the city activated a rapid response system. Also, Mayor Hong instructed all senior officials around noon on the 4th to prepare for the emergency meeting at 7 a.m. that day, and he arrived at City Hall around 1:30 a.m., continuously monitoring the situation and seeking countermeasures.
