The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 4th that it held an evaluation meeting following the completion of the second half clinical practice of the Department of Nursing at Samyook University, an institution that signed an MOU for nurturing healthcare talent, on the 3rd.

View original imageFrom October, a total of 30 nursing students participated in the 3rd term, each for 2 weeks over 6 weeks, completing practical training in various public health center projects including community home nursing, oral health, nutrition (Nutrition Plus), physical activity, obesity prevention, smoking cessation and alcohol moderation, AI-based chronic disease management, dementia, vaccinations, and programs operated by Galmae Health Living Support Center and Sutaek Health Branch.
The evaluation meeting was attended by 13 people including Kim Eun-joo, head of the public health center, Han Sook-jung, professor at Samyook University, on-site supervising professors, and practical department staff. They shared an overall assessment of the practice achievements so far and had in-depth discussions on future improvements and difficulties. The city plans to actively reflect these in next year’s field training.
Professor Han Sook-jung of Samyook University stated, “Over the past six weeks, I hope this valuable time, during which our nursing students directly met local residents on-site and experienced healthcare services through practical training, served as an important opportunity to enhance each individual’s nursing capabilities.”
