View original imageThe city conducts inspections every year on business sites that have installed facilities, machinery, and equipment emitting air pollutants in accordance with the 'Air Quality Preservation Act.'
The main inspection items included compliance with the obligation to install IoT devices following legal amendments, proper operation of air pollutant prevention facilities, and self-measurement implementation. This year, special focus was placed on inspecting the installation and operation of unreported emission facilities.
As a result of the inspections, administrative penalties including fines totaling 13 million KRW were imposed on 24 non-compliant business sites, and among them, 9 sites were subject to criminal charges.
A city official stated, “We will continue to minimize the generation of air pollutants through ongoing inspections of air pollutant-emitting business sites to realize Goyang as a carbon-neutral city leading the response to the climate and environmental crisis.”
