Icheon-si Opens 673 Public Parking Spaces Free for Up to 2 Hours
From the 16th, targeting Seohee Youth Parking Lot and others
Expectations for easing parking difficulties and revitalizing traditional markets
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 3rd that it will open 673 public parking spaces in the city free of charge for up to 2 hours starting from the 16th. This free opening aims to alleviate citizen inconvenience caused by the lack of parking spaces in downtown Icheon and the closure of the Bunsudae Intersection on-street parking lot.
The public parking lots open for free are ▲Seohui Youth Parking Lot (2 hours) ▲Taxi Rest Area Parking Lot (1 hour) ▲Jungri-dong On-street Parking Lot (1 hour). In addition, the operating hours of two unmanned parking lots, ▲Jungrichun-ro Off-street Parking Lot and ▲8-2 On-street Parking Lot next to the Terminal (from Terminal Grand Wedding Hall to Miranda Hotel direction), which had been operating from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., will be changed to 24-hour operation.
The city expects that this free opening will not only increase the utilization rate of public parking lots and reduce congestion caused by illegal parking but also help revitalize traditional markets.
Previously, to promote the use of public parking lots, the city reduced the usage fees for the Taxi Rest Area Parking Lot and Seohui Parking Lot, and since last September, it has been offering a one-hour free trial opening of the Seohui Public Parking Lot.
