View original imageJeon Seung-il, chairman of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, received the grand prize in the welfare environment category at the '2024 Local Autonomy Content Awards' held at the National Assembly in Seoul on the 27th of last month, the only award of its kind in Gwangju.
The '2024 Local Autonomy Content Awards' is hosted by the Local Autonomy Content Awards Organizing Committee and organized by Local Autonomy TV, the Korean Local Autonomy Association, and the Korean Humanities Content Association. The award aims to promote the development of local governments in the Republic of Korea and to discover and publicize excellent policies and innovative content from local governments nationwide.
Chairman Jeon Seung-il was recognized as the award recipient for his active legislative activities for regional development and his efforts in enacting policies and ordinances for socially vulnerable groups, including the 'Elderly Cane Support Ordinance,' the 'Ordinance on Shared Use of Vehicles Equipped with Wheelchair Boarding Devices for Elderly with Mobility Difficulties,' and the 'Sign Language Activation Support Ordinance.'
