Yeoncheon-gun, Payment of Eco-friendly Ecological Conservation Incentives
Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that it will provide eco-friendly ecological conservation cultivation incentives to compensate for income differences by item in order to sustain environmentally friendly farming activities of farmers practicing eco-friendly agriculture.
A total of 124 farmers participating in the project with eco-friendly certification were confirmed, and 116 million KRW will be paid for 207 hectares of eco-friendly certified area.
The eco-friendly ecological conservation cultivation incentive is paid to plots and eco-friendly farmers who maintain certification of eco-friendly agriculture from March 1 to October 31. This is a public interest support fund aimed at boosting the morale of farmers maintaining eco-friendly agriculture, expanding the cultivation of eco-friendly agricultural products, and ensuring safe food for consumers. The incentive is paid after compliance inspections.
The payment rates by item are 1.5 million KRW/ha for organic certification of fruit crops, and 1.38 million KRW/ha for pesticide-free certification. For vegetables, fruit vegetables, special crops, grains, and other items excluding fruit crops, the rates are 700,000 KRW/ha for organic certification and 500,000 KRW/ha for pesticide-free certification. The maximum payment area per farm is up to 5 hectares.
