Gwangju Seo-gu Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' for Food Poisoning Prevention by MFDS

Seo-gu, Gwangju City (Mayor Kim I-gang) has been recognized for its achievements in food poisoning prevention management.
Seo-gu announced on the 2nd that it was the only district in Gwangju City selected as an excellent institution for food poisoning prevention management in 2024 in the evaluation of food poisoning prevention management performance conducted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The evaluation was conducted on 228 cities, counties, and districts nationwide, and 18 excellent institutions were selected. Seo-gu received a commendation from the Minister of Food and Drug Safety.
To prepare for food poisoning outbreaks, Seo-gu formed and operated a cause and epidemiological investigation team and conducted simulation training. It also actively promoted various prevention management activities such as food poisoning prevention inspections and preventive diagnostic consulting for daycare centers and social welfare meal facilities.
In particular, Seo-gu received high praise for initiatives to prevent food safety accidents, including ▲ quarterly intensive management of group meal facilities ▲ hygiene consulting for small alley restaurants ▲ inspections of delivery food establishments ▲ special inspections of food hygiene businesses by period and target ▲ promotional activities by dedicated food poisoning communication managers.
