Increase of 226 Million KRW Compared to Last Year... "Strengthening On-Site Collection and Introducing New Collection Methods"
A company A located in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, was delinquent in taxes amounting to 24 million won. In July, the Yongin City Delinquent Tax Mobile Team visited and searched the company's site several times and discovered a Porsche vehicle worth several hundred million won owned by the company. The mobile team attached seizure seals to the vehicle and eventually collected the full amount of the delinquent taxes.
The city’s delinquent tax mobile team conducted a joint search with the Gyeonggi Provincial Government’s Metropolitan Delinquent Tax Team to collect 14 million won in delinquent taxes from Mr. B, the owner of a dump truck. When the subcontracting company was pressured by obtaining equipment transaction records and tax invoices, Mr. B paid all the delinquent taxes. The city collected about 80 million won in delinquent taxes this year through investigations and public auctions of owners of high-priced construction machinery.

The city explained that it increased the collection rate by introducing new collection methods such as business searches of delinquent corporations and searches of subcontracting companies managing construction machinery, in addition to the existing home searches targeting delinquents who are highly likely to conceal assets and those possessing high-value vehicles.
In particular, for the first time this year, the city conducted its own public auction for seized movable goods that are difficult to transport, such as furniture and home appliances, selling a total of 53 items and allocating 11 million won to the delinquent tax amount. The city plans to activate public auctions of movable goods seized at the homes of long-term delinquents.
In fact, the city’s delinquent tax mobile team handed over 102 seized items including luxury watches, bags, and whiskey from home searches to the "Gyeonggi-do Local Tax Delinquent Seized Movable Goods Public Auction," selling them for about 47 million won and allocating the proceeds to the delinquent tax amount.
