The ‘Communication Meeting with Residents,’ which Mayor Lee has held annually since his inauguration, marked its third year this year. Starting with Daehwa-dong in July, he has visited over 30 neighborhoods to gather residents’ opinions.

Mayor Lee emphasized once again the importance of on-site engagement and stated that he will continue to implement open administration through ongoing communication with residents.

During this meeting, various suggestions were received, including ▲the introduction of smart shelters at bus stops ▲installation of parking zones for electric bicycles and electric kickboards ▲exploration of changes to aging detached houses in Jeongbalsan-dong ▲crackdown on illegal parking of large vehicles ▲maintenance of old pavement blocks in Hwasu Park ▲and creation of specialized streets.

Goyang Special City announced that, following the establishment of 18 personal mobility (PM) parking zones last year to assist residents facing difficulties due to electric mobility devices left on the streets, it is considering additional installations in the first half of next year.

However, regarding the introduction of bus stop shelters in Jeongbalsan-dong, the city asked for residents’ understanding as it is a project requiring considerable budget and will be pursued considering the city’s future financial conditions.

Regarding the creation of specialized streets in Hwajeong, the city stated that it is planning concrete project plans, including holding meetings and conducting road checks with residents, aiming to start construction in the first half of next year.

Goyang Special City plans to continue its communication efforts by visiting 14 neighborhoods within the region, including Gajwa-dong.
