Pyeongtaek Port Authority Signs Business Agreement with 6 Organizations to Secure Depth at Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port
The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority has signed an agreement with six organizations to secure the water depth in the adjacent waters of six liquid berths at Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port.
On the 28th, the Pyeongtaek Port Authority announced on the 29th that it had signed a business agreement with six organizations, including the Pyeongtaek Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office, Korea Gas Corporation, Korea National Oil Corporation, Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., SK Gas Co., Ltd., and Daea Tank Terminal Co., Ltd., to secure the water depth in the adjacent waters of six liquid berths at Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port.

View original imageThe water depth of the liquid berths at Pyeongtaek-Dangjin Port and the adjacent waters is a place where significant sedimentation occurs due to the topographical characteristics of Pyeongtaek Port, tidal differences, and sand inflow into Namyang Bay during the monsoon season.
According to this agreement, the seven organizations will conduct a feasibility study for efficient water depth management and accurate analysis of sedimentation causes. They will also review the economics and feasibility of integrated management, such as joint dredging management costs, dredging timing, and standardization of maintenance dredging.
