View original imageOn the 29th, Gwangju City announced on the 28th that it will hold the "2024 International Investment Attraction Forum" at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center under the theme "Waves of Innovation? A New Era Opened by AI, Mobility, and Energy."
Hosted by the Gwangju Free Economic Zone Authority and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, this forum aims to share global future industry technology trends and prospects with local companies and citizens, and to create opportunities for business cooperation among related companies. This marks the second year of the event.
At the opening ceremony, about 150 people will attend, including Park Pil-soon, Chair of the Industry and Construction Committee of the Gwangju City Council; Lee Hyun-jo, Director of the Free Economic Zone Planning Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy; representatives and officials from global companies such as Microsoft Korea; a delegation from the China Global Leaders Exchange and Cooperation Federation; and heads of major domestic and international related organizations.
The forum will be chaired by Ali Izadi-Najafabadi, Head of Asia-Pacific at BloombergNEF, and will be divided into three sessions covering future energy, mobility, and artificial intelligence (AI). Notably, CEOs and experts from leading global information technology companies (big tech) will participate in large numbers to diagnose changes in industry trends by sector and explore new directions.
In Session 1, focusing on future energy, Damien Casali, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of GE Vernova KAPES, will present on the topic "The Future of Energy: A More Resilient and Stable Power Grid."
In Sessions 2 and 3, covering future mobility and AI, presentations will follow, including "Waves of Innovation: A New Era in the Mobility Industry" by Jo Ho-sung, Head of Korea AptivCS, and "Efficiency and Accountability through AI" by Shin Yong-nyeo, Chief Technology Officer (NTO) of Microsoft Korea.
