'December 1 is World AIDS Day', Ulsan City and Related Organizations Joint Promotion
Campaign with Public Health Center and Infectious Disease Control Support Team on the 28th
Ulsan City will conduct a joint public AIDS prevention campaign at Taehwagang National Garden on the 28th, ahead of the 37th World AIDS Day (December 1st).
About 30 participants, including officials from Ulsan City, five district health centers, and the Infectious Disease Control Support Group, will carry out a public AIDS prevention campaign under the theme "Towards Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Deaths, and Zero Discrimination."
The participants will distribute promotional materials containing AIDS prevention methods and conduct street campaigns to improve misconceptions about AIDS.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "Early detection through prevention and testing is crucial for AIDS," adding, "We hope this campaign will not only help prevent AIDS but also improve awareness and eliminate discrimination and prejudice against it."
AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a disease caused by the destruction of immune cells due to infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), leading to various infectious diseases and malignant tumors.
It is not transmitted through everyday contact but can be contracted through △ sexual contact with an infected person △ sharing needles used by an infected person △ transfusion of blood contaminated with AIDS.
