Yonsei University Decides on Additional Exam over 'Essay Question Leak'... 261 More Students to Be Admitted
Additional Exam on December 8
Yonsei University will conduct an additional exam on December 8 in relation to the 2025 academic year natural sciences early admission 'essay question leak' incident.
On the 27th, Yonsei University stated in a press release, "Yonsei University judged that revealing the substantive truth through the court's decision regarding this (essay question leak) incident is the proper way to protect the interests of the majority of examinees who took the exam normally and to show consideration for other universities' admissions." It added, "However, it has become difficult to receive a court ruling within a short period. Therefore, Yonsei University has decided to conduct an additional exam in consultation with the Ministry of Education."
According to this decision, all examinees who took the first exam held on October 12 will be allowed to take the second exam on December 8. Yonsei University plans to select the originally planned 261 successful candidates from the first exam as scheduled, and will additionally select 261 successful candidates through the second exam, confirming all first and second exam successful candidates as the 2025 academic year essay admission successful candidates. The results of the first exam will be announced on November 13, and the results of the second exam will be announced before November 26.
Earlier, on October 12, at one testing site where the Yonsei University natural sciences early admission essay exam was held, the exam papers were mistakenly distributed by a supervisor at 12:55 p.m., about an hour before the exam started, and then collected about 20 minutes later. After the exam, controversy over question leaks arose as photos of the natural sciences exam questions and practice answers for the humanities exam, apparently taken by examinees, were shared on online communities.
