The musical film 'Wicked' topped the box office by attracting 500,000 viewers during its opening weekend.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 25th, over the three days of the past weekend (22nd?24th), 'Wicked' (directed by Jon Chu) drew 500,707 viewers, securing the number one spot at the box office. Its revenue share was 45.0%. Since its release on the 20th, the film has recorded a cumulative audience of 652,087.
Adapted from the popular musical of the same name, 'Wicked' tells the story of Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), who has yet to discover her own power, and Glinda (Ariana Grande), who has yet to find her true nature, as they build a friendship and embark on adventures together. On its opening day in North America on the 22nd, it earned $111.4 million (KRW 155.78 billion), and worldwide revenue reached approximately $164.2 million (KRW 229.62 billion).

The locked-room thriller 'Hidden Face' (directed by Kim Dae-woo), starring Song Seung-heon, attracted 253,555 viewers and ranked second. Its cumulative audience is 354,461. Third place went to 'Gladiator 2' (142,754 viewers), fourth to 'Cheongseol' (91,437 viewers), and fifth to 'My Hero Academia the Movie: Your Next' (28,754 viewers). The total number of moviegoers over the weekend was 1,143,177.
