BitTube captured both entertainment and information this year, increasing its subscriber count by 70% and gaining over 2 million additional views, attracting significant attention.
On the 24th, Gwangju City announced that it had won the Grand Prize in the metropolitan local government YouTube category at the '10th 2024 SNS of the Year' held at the Seoul Press Center on the 21st.
The '2024 SNS of the Year' is the most prestigious award in the related field, hosted by the nonprofit organization Korea Social Content Promotion Association, composed of social media experts, and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Influencer Industry Association. It comprehensively evaluates the status of social networking services (SNS) over the year and awards companies and institutions that actively communicate with businesses and the public.
Gwangju City's YouTube channel 'BitTube' presented friendly content combining both fun and information, increasing subscribers from 34,000 at the end of last year to 58,000, a 70% rise, and views surged by more than 2 million compared to last year, receiving much love. In particular, the newly introduced segments this year, 'Ask the Stars☆' and 'Happy Birthday,' have gained great popularity.
The policy talk show 'Ask the Stars☆,' delivered directly by policy officials, and 'Happy Birthday,' which showcases the unique charms of Gwangju as a transit-, bicycle-, and pedestrian-centered city (Dae·Ja·Bo), currently occupy the top five spots in channel content views as of the end of October. Among these, four videos have recorded over 100,000 views, drawing attention.
The city plans to continue producing content featuring useful information in various fields such as economy, culture, and transportation, as well as the unique charms of Gwangju, with diverse and innovative ideas.
