Uijeongbu City to Enforce Operation Restrictions under Seasonal Fine Dust Management from December
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 20th that it will conduct crackdowns on Grade 5 emission vehicles during the '6th Seasonal Management Period' from December 1 this year to March 31 next year.
The crackdown areas for the 6th enforcement include the 'Metropolitan Area and six major special/metropolitan cities (Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, Sejong),' and the targets are all Grade 5 vehicles registered in 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
The enforcement hours are from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, excluding weekends and public holidays. Violating vehicles will be fined 100,000 KRW per day. However, vehicles that cannot be equipped with reduction devices and belong to basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income classes, small business registered vehicles, emergency vehicles, disabled persons, and national merit recipients are exempt from fines.
In addition, owners of Grade 5 vehicles should check the 'Vehicle Emission Grade System' website for the specific restrictions and exemptions in each city and province, as enforcement conditions vary by region when visiting other areas.

A city official stated, "We ask for citizens' interest and active participation in the implementation of the fine dust seasonal management system," adding, "We will do our best to improve air quality and protect citizens' health."
