Yangju City to Promote 'LPG Cylinder Usage Household Facility Improvement' Project Until the 29th
Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 18th that it will promote the 'LPG Container Household Facility Improvement Project' to prevent LP gas leakage accidents occurring in homes.
This project aims to improve gas usage facilities to be safer by replacing the rubber hoses of LPG containers, which are vulnerable in terms of safety, with metal pipes and installing safety devices such as fuse cocks.
The existing LPG containers are connected from the container to the usage part by rubber hoses, making it highly likely for accidents such as gas leaks to occur due to facility aging, including corrosion of the rubber hose and gaps at joints.
Additionally, due to the amendment of the 'Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Management and Business Act,' all LPG-using households must replace LPG rubber hoses with metal pipes by December 31, 2030.
The total facility improvement cost per household is 275,000 KRW, and by paying a self-payment of 50,000 KRW, 225,000 KRW can be supported.
Households using LPG container rubber hoses who wish to improve their facilities can apply to the administrative welfare center in their residential area by the end of November.
