The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization held the 'Tourism Dure National Conference - Ieum Dure' event on the 15th at Sebitseom in Seoul.
Tourism Dure is a policy project that supports the establishment and operation of tourism businesses with unique local characteristics in areas such as accommodation, food and beverage, travel, and experiences, led by local residents to revitalize regional tourism. So far, 188 PDs have been selected in 142 regions, and 953 resident businesses have been discovered.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded commendations from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to outstanding resident businesses of Tourism Dure, Tourism Dure PDs, and local government officials. The outstanding resident businesses selected were 'Jusikhoesa Areumdaun Donghaeng' in Jinju, Gyeongnam, and 'Jusikhoesa Epeulato' in Cheongyang, Chungnam. PD Gu Chae-eun from Ulju, Ulsan, and Kim Bok-jae, Director of Tourism Policy at Pyeongchang County Office, Gangwon, were selected as outstanding Tourism Dure PD and outstanding local government official, respectively.
The event also held an awards ceremony for the 'Tourism Dure Youth Resident Business Idea Contest.' The grand prize was awarded to 'A Trip Different by Day and Night,' which devised a historical experience using the Hyanggyo in Jecheon, Chungbuk, and a 'Chonkangseu' experience event.
