Recognized for Contributions to Fostering and Supporting Disabled-Owned Businesses
"We Will Continue Genuine Social Contribution Projects"
Hyundai Department Store Group received a government commendation in recognition of its efforts to foster businesses owned by people with disabilities and support their economic activities.
According to Hyundai Department Store Group on the 14th, Hyundai GF Holdings, the holding company, announced that on the 13th, at the ‘2024 19th National Disabled Entrepreneurs Conference’ held at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, Jang Hojin, CEO of Hyundai GF Holdings, received the Minister of SMEs and Startups Commendation in the ‘Outstanding Contributor to Supporting Disabled Enterprises’ category.

원본보기 아이콘The National Disabled Entrepreneurs Conference is an event held annually since 2006 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to promote the economic activities of people with disabilities, organized by the Korea Disabled Entrepreneurs Association and the Disabled Enterprise Comprehensive Support Center.
The Outstanding Contributor to Fostering Disabled Enterprises award is given based on contributions to the development of disabled enterprises and social contribution achievements. Hyundai Department Store Group was recognized for its contributions over three years since 2022 to the establishment, operation, and strengthening of specialized workplaces for people with developmental disabilities. These specialized workplaces are part of a project initiated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2021 to create workplaces that support the independence of people with developmental disabilities who face difficulties in economic activities.
Additionally, Hyundai Department Store Group has donated a total of 300 million KRW in three installments of 100 million KRW each annually through the Hyundai Department Store Social Welfare Foundation. The donations were delivered to specialized workplaces for people with developmental disabilities located in Gwangju Metropolitan City, Jinju City in Gyeongnam Province, and Asan City in Chungnam Province, and were used to support the independence of people with developmental disabilities.
Jang Hojin, CEO of Hyundai GF Holdings, stated, “We will continue to strive to promote the independence of people with disabilities and revitalize disabled enterprises. In particular, we plan to expand sincere social contribution projects by supporting socially vulnerable groups who are in welfare blind spots.”
