The summer of 2024 recorded an unprecedented number of heatwave days (65 days in Yeoju City), causing massive damage nationwide.
The city minimized damage through active heatwave response policies, including operating 336 cooling shelters, supporting cooling costs, installing shade shelters, and protecting vulnerable groups, which earned high scores in the comprehensive evaluation.
