Asan Auto Clean Net, Neglected for a Long Time, to Be Converted into a Resident Convenience Facility
Asan City and LH Sign Agreement to Return Automated Waste Collection Facility to Community Use
The previously neglected automatic waste collection facility in Asan, Chungnam, will be returned for use by local residents.
According to the city on the 13th, the city government and the LH Daejeon-Chungnam Regional Headquarters recently signed a memorandum of understanding to return the automatic waste collection facility (Auto Clean Net) in the new town as a community benefit facility.
The Auto Clean Net was completed in June 2013 as part of the Asan Baebang and Tangjeong housing development projects. However, due to issues such as declining economic feasibility, a legal dispute arose between the city and LH, resulting in the facility being left unused for an extended period.
Recently, after the Asan City Council raised concerns about the neglected Auto Clean Net, the city and LH agreed to find a way to repurpose it and return it as a facility for residents. Accordingly, a working-level council will be formed to discuss details such as the introduction of new facilities and remodeling plans.
Cho Ilgyo, acting mayor, said, "As both organizations have overcome their differences with a sense of responsibility toward citizens, we will ensure that this becomes a facility with a high level of satisfaction."
