Hana Bank announced on the 13th that it held a celebration for the 10,000th subscriber of the 'Preferential Savings Deduction for Employees of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)' at the Hana Bank Gangseo Financial Center branch located in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
At the event, various measures for the mutual growth of SMEs and their employees were also shared.
The 'Preferential Savings Deduction for Employees of SMEs' was launched last October with the purpose of fostering coexistence between SMEs and their workers.
Through public-private cooperation between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small and Medium Business Corporation, the program aims to help employees working at SMEs accumulate a lump sum of money and encourage long-term employment to alleviate manpower shortages in SMEs.
The event was attended by Oh Young-joo, Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Lee Seung-yeol, President of Hana Bank, and others, who congratulated the 10,000th subscriber, an employee and the CEO of Nature Oda Co., Ltd., and encouraged Hana Bank staff at the branch.
Thanks to the strong interest from SME representatives and employees, the 'Preferential Savings for SME Employees' surpassed 10,000 subscribers just 23 days after its launch, and inquiries about the product continue to increase rapidly, leading to a fast-growing subscriber base.
Hana Bank launched the 'Hana Preferential Savings for SME Employees' product on the 24th of last month, and subscriptions are available nationwide at Hana Bank branches and through the 'Hana One Q' app. When an SME employee saves 100,000 KRW or more, the company additionally supports an amount equivalent to 20% of the employee’s contribution. The basic interest rate is 3.0%, with a preferential interest rate of up to 2.0% per annum added, resulting in a maximum annual interest rate of 5.0%. The subscription amount ranges from a minimum of 100,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW, with a subscription period of 5 years.
Additionally, SMEs participating in the 'Hana Preferential Savings for SME Employees' product receive cost recognition for the support funds paid and corporate tax reduction benefits, which have been well received by SME representatives.
Oh Young-joo, Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "I am grateful for the enthusiastic interest and participation of SME owners and their employees," adding, "Knowing that everyone is working together to resolve the manpower shortage in SMEs gives me a greater sense of responsibility, and I will strive to solve the manpower issues of SMEs."
