Starting with a video conference between heads of organizations for practical exchanges in February this year, they have strengthened their relationship through various cultural exchanges such as the establishment of the Cheonseongsan International Sister City Monument, setting up an international sister city booth at the Sapryang Cultural Festival, and producing various tourism souvenirs.
In particular, this visit was the second since the sister city agreement and was made possible by the official invitation of Sintra’s mayor, who regrettably could not participate in the festival during the Sapryang Cultural Festival. The meeting was held in the form of a roundtable to strengthen exchanges in culture and tourism between the two cities and to discuss exchanges and cooperation in various fields beyond just the economic sector.
At this meeting, the mayors of both cities warmly welcomed each other, and practical officials from both cities attended to report on the exchange projects so far, share plans for exchanges in various fields in the future, and exchange practical opinions.

Cabo da Roca is known worldwide as the westernmost point of the European continent and a spectacular place to watch the sunset. Through Cabo da Roca, which attracts numerous tourists every year, they conceived ideas to develop the Cheonseongsan area connected by the sea route into a sunrise attraction, adding significant meaning to tourism cooperation between the two cities famous for their sunrises and sunsets.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon said, “I expect that the exchanges between the two cities, which began in the fields of culture and tourism, will serve as a foothold to expand exchanges into various fields through this visit,” and added, “Based on this discussion, we plan to promote practical and continuous exchanges in various fields in the future.”
