This seminar was organized as a follow-up measure to the 'K-Beauty SME and Venture Companies Global Competitiveness Enhancement Plan' announced on July 24. It was conducted with the purpose of resolving export regulation difficulties that act as obstacles to the export growth of K-Beauty SMEs. About 220 K-Beauty SMEs attended the event.

Cosmetics are the top export item for SMEs. However, due to the recent implementation of the U.S. Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) and the mandatory halal certification labeling in Indonesia, there is a need to strengthen SMEs' capabilities to respond to export regulations.

At the seminar, certification experts from various fields explained export regulation response strategies for major countries such as the U.S., Europe, and China, enabling SMEs to independently respond to export regulations. They provided guidance on preparation methods including document preparation, on-site inspection response strategies, the latest certification trends, and comparisons of cosmetics export regulations in key countries. Additionally, one-on-one consultations on export regulation difficulties between companies and certification experts were conducted.

Choi Won-young, Director of Global Growth Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "Cosmetics export regulations are being strengthened and diversified worldwide," and added, "The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to support the globalization of K-Beauty SMEs in various ways, including expanding information provision to strengthen SMEs' capabilities to respond to export regulations."

The lectures conducted at this seminar will be uploaded later on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups Export Support Center website and the Overseas Standards Certification Acquisition Support Center website for ongoing access.
