Goyang-si Sends Second Half Environmental Improvement Charge Reminder Notices
Over 5,000 Cases of Unpaid Vehicle Environmental Improvement Charges
Payment Due by the 2nd of Next Month
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 13th that it will send out reminder notices in bulk for the second half of 2024 environmental improvement charges that are overdue.
The reminder notices target about 5,000 cases of overdue automobile environmental improvement charges. The payment deadline is December 2.
Payment of the environmental improvement charges can be made by visiting a nearby financial institution or through internet banking, ARS, dedicated virtual accounts, Internet Giro, or Wetax. For other inquiries, detailed guidance can be obtained by contacting the Climate Energy Division of Goyang City Hall.
An official from Goyang Special City stated, “If the overdue environmental improvement charges are not paid within the reminder deadline, disadvantages such as vehicle seizure and real estate seizure will be imposed, so we ask that payments be made within the deadline.”

Meanwhile, starting in November, Goyang City plans to send reminder notices for all overdue environmental improvement charges and actively promote payment reminders and seizure of property rights (such as automobiles and real estate) to increase the collection rate.
