Dong-A University Korean Language and Culture Center Hosts Korean Language Calendar Making Contest
Making Calendars, Submissions Accepted Until the 17th
Essay Contest for High School Students, Entries Accepted Until the 30th
The Korean Language and Culture Center at Dong-A University (Director Kim Young-sun) announced on the 12th that it will hold the "Beautiful Korean Language Calendar Making Contest" and the "Busan Dialect and Writing Contest."
Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Busan City, and organized by the Korean Language and Culture Center at Dong-A University, the "2024 Beautiful Korean Language Calendar Making Contest" is accepting submissions until the 17th. Anyone can participate, and application forms can be downloaded from the Dong-A University Korean Language and Culture Center website.
The calendar making contest involves creating works related to the Korean language to be included in a calendar. Participants can submit works on various themes such as pictures drawn in Korean, calligraphy, or introductions of notable figures of the month.
Works to be included in the calendar should select one month from January to December and be created as a JPG (image) file with a size of at least 240x150mm. After completing the work, participants must submit it along with the application form through the contest submission page on the Korean Language and Culture Center website to complete the registration.
The Korean Language and Culture Center at Dong-A University will announce the winners on the 22nd after judging, selecting a total of 12 winners, one for each month. Winners will receive a certificate, a prize of 100,000 KRW, and a calendar produced with their work.
The "Busan Dialect and Writing Contest," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Busan City and organized by the Korean Language and Culture Center at Dong-A University, is accepting submissions until the 30th.
This writing contest is aimed at middle and high school students. Students who wish to participate should write a poem or prose (2,000 to 2,400 characters) on the theme of the beautiful "Busan dialect and writing" using the manuscript paper format provided by the Korean Language and Culture Center at Dong-A University and send it via email to the center.

The Korean Language and Culture Center at Dong-A University plans to separately judge the poetry and prose categories, selecting three winners in each category for a total of six winners. Winners will receive certificates, prizes, and gifts. The winning works will be announced on the 6th of next month.
